ECP Delays Second Phase LG Elections in KP till March

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decided to delay the second phase of local government elections in province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) till March.

The second phase of local body elections in the remaining eighteen (18) districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, including Hazara and Malakand, was delayed till march due to harsh weather in most parts of the province, informed ECP.

Earlier, second phase to be held on Jan 16 and directives were issued to concerned departments regarding arrangements.

The first phase was held on Dec 19. First phase witnesses of setback for ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as its arch rival JUI-F’s Zubair Ali won contest of Peshawar Mayor with votes 62,388.
